Jean-Marc Samuel arrived on the Canal du Midi with a barge converted into a carpentry workshop. In 2000, he bought the Tourmente and started to work in the transport business. In 2012, he was elected director of the National Chamber of Craft Boats. With the SAS L’Equipage, he made his first transports on the Canal des Deux Mers and co-organized with the association Vivre le Canal, itinerant events between Bordeaux and Sète. He is also president of the federation Agir pour le fluvial and vice-president of the Observatoire des transports Occitanie.
